Chem-MAP Training Coming Soon

Manufacturers of Materials & Products is a specially designed programme within Chem-MAP® to support manufacturers of materials with implementing responsible chemical management in their supply chains. The Manufacturers Programme is divided into two key modules:  Module 1 – Chem-MAP® Approved Technician (CAT)  Module 2 – Chem-MAP® Approved Manufacturer (CAM)

 

Module 1 consists of a series of online training and assessment modules. These modules are aimed at providing education to technicians who handle chemicals at manufacturing facilities, to enable them to develop their understanding of the principles and practices of responsible chemical management within a manufacturing facility. 

Manufacturers of Products and Materials online training consists of 8 modules, these include:

1.       An Introduction to Chem-MAP® & Chemical Management

2.       Understanding Safety Data Sheets

3.       RSL and MRSL

4.       Setting up a Chemical Inventory Log (CIL)

5.       Responsible Chemical Procurement

6.       Chemical Handling and Health & Safety

7.       Chemical Storage and Waste Management

8.       Wastewater Management

 

Through successful completion of the online training modules and assessments, technicians can be awarded Chem-MAP® Approved Technician (CAT) status. There are two CAT levels that are achievable:

 

Level 1 Chem-MAP® Approved Technician (CAT) The Level 1 CAT award can be achieved through successful completion of individual modules and examinations.
Level 2 Chem-MAP® Approved Technician (CAT) The Level 2 CAT award can be achieved through successful completion of all modules and examinations.

 

 

Module 2 consists of an on-site chemical management audit of the manufacturing facilities, covering:

• Chemical inputs (evaluating if sourced from a ZDHC approved supplier)
• The percentage of technicians awarded CAT status
• Chemical management at facility level
• Chemical management training followed by an assessment

 

Through successful completion of the m-Map audit, the manufacturing facility can become a Chem-MAP® Approved Manufacturer (CAM).
