On 18th March 2020, ZDHC announced Chem-MAP® as an approved certifier to the ZDHC MRSL V2.0 across all conformity levels (1,2 and 3).
The ZDHC MRSL V2.0 supports good chemical management by helping to avoid the use of banned substances during production and manufacturing in the apparel and footwear industries. ZDHC works collaboratively to implement sustainable chemistry with brands, retailers, manufacturers, chemical suppliers and certifiers such as Chem-MAP®.
Since its inception in 2015, ZDHC made the decision to work with existing certifiers to indicate whether businesses working within the fashion industry conform to the ZDHC MRSL. Interested certifiers must go through an approval process to become a ZDHC Accepted Certifier.
As a result, Chem-MAP® can now certify across conformity levels (1,2 and 3) for both MRSL V1.1 and MRSL V2.0, making Chem-MAP® currently one of only five companies globally that can offer this.
“We are delighted to have been accepted to certify to version 2.0. enabling us to support our clients with re-certification from MRSL V1.1 to V2 before the December 2020 deadline as well as engaging with chemical companies who are gateway listing their products for the first time” says Chem-MAP® Technical Manager, Georgina Mawer, “within Chem-MAP® we are committed to helping chemical companies achieve ZDHC conformance for their products, demonstrating their commitment to upstream chemical management”.
