Chem-MAP® is a new, innovative process for verifying MRSL compliance of supplied chemical formulations to ZDHC conformance level 1 and level 3.
Chem-MAP® has been developed by BLC Leather Technology Centre Ltd. in partnership with Peter Gregory from Vert-Tex and works through a preventative approach which ensures that materials and products are made using responsible chemistry. To achieve this, Chem-MAP® works with all organisations in the supply chain including chemical companies, manufacturers, brands and retailers.
How does the BLC Chem-MAP® Programme engage the materials supply chain?
The BLC Chem-MAP® Programme is split into four divisions:
Chem-MAP for chemical companies to gain ZDHC approved certification.
Become a ZDHC level 1, 2 or 3 approved chemical supplier through the completion of Chem-MAP® audit and testing modules on the Chemical Manufacturers route. Chem-MAP supports verification of chemicals for manufacture and production on the ZDHC Gateway.
Manufacturers of materials to become Chem-MAP® approved
Join the Chem-MAP® programme as a supplier of materials or products. Become a Chem-MAP® Guardian through online training modules, chemical inventory management and chemical management audits on the Chem-MAP Manufacturers fo Materials and Products route.
Brands & retailers to become Chem-MAP® engaged
Brands and retailers can engage with the Chem-MAP® programme to support chemical management objectives. This route provides education, guidance and policy advice in addition to supply chain management support.
MRSL testing for brands, retailers, manufacturers and suppliers
Test your chemicals for MRSL compliance through MRSL testing. MRSL testing is carried out by BLC’s internationally accredited testing laboratory to a fully validated set of methods available to test for all MRSL listed substances.
