Starting your journey towards responsible chemical management with Eurofins | Chem-MAP means that your business protecting your customers, supply chain and the environment against chemical risk. Chem-MAP is a structured system that guides your business to develop a robust chemical management system through either the Chemical, Manufacturer or Brand/Retail programme. Chem-MAP also enables you and your suppliers to verify chemical formulations to the ZDHC MRSL through MRSL testing and gain vegan certification through Chem-MAP Vegan Verification.
See which route is right for your business.
As a chemical manufacturer, you can develop your ZDHC-aligned chemical management system through the c-MAP programme. Through c-MAP, you can achieve Chem-MAP® certification for your facilities and ZDHC conformance for your chemical formulations.
Complete c-MAP Modules
The c-MAP programme consists of 3x modules which are designed to provide a robust third party assessment that can be used effectively to manage risk around MRSL compliance. Chemical manufacturers can achieve ZDHC Conformance Level 1 to 3 through c-MAP.
To obtain Chem-MAP® certification and ZDHC conformance Level 3, all 3x modules must be completed:
Getting Your Chemicals on the ZDHC Gateway
In order to reach a wider customer base of ZDHC affiliated manufacturers, brands and retailers, chemical manufacturers need to have their chemical formulations independently tested to the ZDHC MRSL.
Our team of experts can test chemical formulations at our UK-based laboratory to the full ZDHC MRSL which consists of over 140 separate CAS number chemicals. We can also test to customer specifications, carry out smart testing and testing of individual chemical analytes or groups.

As a manufacturer of textile, leather or synthetic materials and/or products, your chemical management systems can be enhanced through the Chem-MAP programme, which is aligned with ZDHC objectives. It entitles your manufacturing facilities to achieve Chem-MAP certification through completion of certified staff training (Chem-MAP Approved Technician) and certified on-site chemical management audits (Chem-MAP Approved Manufacturer).
Manufacturers Programme
Complete Chem-MAP Modules
2x modules comprised of a range of tools for managing MRSL compliance at a facility level, including chemical management audits, chemical inventory management and online training modules. In addition, an on-site assessment will investigate the procurement practices for chemicals.
To obtain Chem-MAP certification and awards for both the manufacturing facility and technical staff, all modules must be completed:
Using ZDHC Approved Chemistry in Manufacture
To increase the use of compliant chemistry in the production of materials and consumer products, ZDHC host a list of approved chemical formulations that have been tested to the ZDHC MRSL. As part of Chem-MAP certification, we test and encourage the use of these formulations. Therefore, if there is a particular formulation that you use which is not ZDHC approved, we can carry out MRSL testing in order to verify it according to the ZDHC MRSL.

Vegan Verification
Certify Chemicals to Meet Vegan Specification
Veganism is one of the fastest growing international trends in recent years. The consumer pressure placed upon brands and retailers to produce innovative vegan products, without harming animals or the environment, is impacting manufacturers further upstream in the supply chain.
We can provide independent verification of chemicals that are used throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that there is no trace of animal DNA. By verifying that the chemistry used within your materials and products is vegan, brands and retailers will find this level of assurance attractive.
As a brand or retailer, you may have noticed that consumers are increasingly aware of chemicals used within products and the effects they may have on people and the environment. In order to provide your customers with assurance of the chemistry used, your business can develop its chemical management systems by gaining Chem-MAP certification through the brand/retailer programme.
Brand/Retailer Programme
Complete Chem-MAP Modules
Aligned with ZDHC goals and objectives, the modules contain a series of tools that are aimed at supporting a brand or retailer with upstream chemistry challenges, including MRSL engagement and compliance.
To obtain Chem-MAP certification both modules must be completed:
Results of the programme can be communicated to customers in the form of a score.
