Testing chemicals to an MRSL analyses chemical formulations that are used in the manufacture of materials, such as leather, textiles, and synthetics and it involves specialised chemical extraction and clean-up processes, which are dependent upon the product formulation.
Laboratory specialists at Eurofins I Chem-MAP have developed the testing of chemicals to an MRSL which includes a series of fully validated test methods, that are used in the Chem-MAP programme. The test methods are then used to determine the quantity of individual chemicals within a supplied chemical formulation, against those listed on the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) MRSL.
Eurofins | Chem-MAP is approved by ZDHC to provide MRSL testing, as part of the Chemical Programme within the Eurofins | Chem-MAP family. However, Eurofins I Chem-MAP can also carry out bespoke MRSL testing, outside of the standard ZDHC Chemical Programme (if required).
A complete testing programme for chemical formulations, testing individual chemical formulations used in the manufacture of leather, synthetic leather and textiles, against all chemicals listed in the ZDHC MRSL (over 140 individual chemical tests).
Chemical formulations are evaluated, and ‘smart tested’ against ZDHC MRSL chemical groups, that are most likely associated with the formulation of the product, and therefore present an increased risk. Chemical groups that present a low risk (those that are unlikely to be used in the product formulation), are excluded from smart testing.
Chemical formulations can be tested for individual analytes or chemical groups listed in the ZDHC MRSL upon request.
If your company has their own MRSL (with specified limits), Eurofins I Chem-MAP can carry out bespoke MRSL testing of your chemical formulations upon request (please note for this testing turnaround times may be subject to change).
We can test chemical formulations to the ZDHC MRSL which contains over 140 separate CAS number chemicals. These chemicals and their analytes can be placed into the following groups:
